Update on Sono Harris

“The best thing a man can do
for his children is love their mother.”
- John WoodenSono is continuing to prepare to be with her beloved Lord Jesus, and thankfully she is not in much pain. She is very weak, but is still helping make preparations for Gregg and the children after her departure from this life. She is truly is remarkable woman of faith!
Sono’s determination to do God’s will reminds me of Jesus when it was prophesied of Him in Isaiah 50:7, “Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.
She is pressing on by God’s grace, just like the saints in Hebrews 11:16, of whom it is said, “But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.” Truly, the Lord is not ashamed to be called her God; rather, He is much glorified!SOME HISTORY OF THE HARRIS FAMILY
Gregg and Sono have been pillars in the Christian homeschool movement in America, serving God and the homeschool community for over 30 years. Gregg was one of the first ones to write a book about the Christian homeschooling lifestyle (The Christian Home School—the first homeschooling book we ever read). In the 1980s and 90s, Gregg challenged and encouraged thousands of families through his Christian Life Workshops (I had the privilege of coordinating two such conferences in VA, which Chris had the blessing to speak at with Gregg in the late 80s).Furthermore, Gregg and Sono have raised up sons who are serving God in mighty ways for His glory. For instance, the Harris’ twin sons, Alex and Brett created The Rebelution to encourage teens to rebel against the low expectations our society is increasingly selling our youth (their website, which has had over 35 million hits, is www.therebelution.com).
Alex and Brett are also of the authors of two best-selling books, Do Hard Things (written when they were just 18 years old), as well as their latest practical how-to book, Start Here, available at Christian bookstores everywhere. The love for and dedication to Jesus Christ these young men have can be traced back to the deep faith, godly example, diligent training and fervent prayers of their parents.
