Ada County Mayors Seek Nominees for Award
Deadline for entry: January 15, 2009
The Mayors of Ada County have asked ICHE and CHOIS to help them honor some stellar young people for the Mayors' Awards to Youth. Each organization is invited to nominate as many as four youths. We need your help! Please send the following information in an email to CHOIS. A Mayors award selection committee comprised of parents and grandparents of homeschool graduates has been established to select the eight homeschooled nominees for this award from those who submit a nomination form. We will notify our nominees by February 15, 2009 so they may accept or decline this honor.
The Mayors wish to recognize students who live in Ada County (Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Kuna, Star, Garden City) and who have made a significant contribution to their communities. This contribution could be any volunteer time spent while attaining other awards, such as Congressional Medals, Boy Scouts, or 4-H. It could include volunteer time that is being given without recognition, such as visiting nursing home residents, or helping young mothers. The Mayors will host an award ceremony at Boise City Hall in April 2009 where each recipient will receive a plaque from his/her mayor.
To nominate a student, please include the following information in an email to CHOIS. Please put: "Mayors Award Nomination" in the subject line of your email.
