Introducing Convention Speaker Faith Berens

We can’t wait for you to meet Faith Berens! Faith is one of HSLDA’s Special Needs Consultants. She homeschools her own children as well as working as a private educational consultant and evaluator. Faith holds a Master’s degree in reading and has over 15 years of classroom teaching experience.

She will be presenting six workshops for us, which include: You Can Homeschool Your Struggling Learner, Dyslexis Demystified:Definitions and Hope for Homeschoolers, Teaching Struggling Learners at Home: Nuts and Bolts for Success, Laying a Foundation for Reading Comprehension in the Preschool Years, Before PHONICS: Phonemic Awareness the Missing Ingredient in Reading Instruction, and ReadingDifficulties: Remediation Strategies and Techniques.

To go along with Faith’s emphasis on teaching reading, CHOIS is once again offering free admission to Parents of Preschoolers whose oldest child is under 5 years of age and who have never attended the convention before. Spread the word!

We look forward to hosting Faith and hope that she will have answers for struggling learners.

Committed to helping parents fulfill their God-given right and responsibility to educate their own children.
